What We Do
This committee serves as the liaison between the business community and the Bay County education system, allowing students to reach their highest potential and employers to be more productive.
Members of the committee assist in the planning and implementation of two events: Career Connections for high school seniors and Educators in Industry for counselors and teachers.
If you are interested in serving on the Education Committee, please contact Elizabeth Smith at (850)215-3779 or at [email protected].
What’s going on
We are excited to announce we have partnered with Chevron to host a contest awarding deserving teachers with a $500 DonorsChoose.org gift card to help fund their classroom project. Teachers can enter the contest by posting a project on www.donorschoose.org from October 15, 2019 through August 1, 2020. Each month, the Education Committee will review all eligible projects posted and select the Teacher Project of the Month to award the prize. Projects will be judged based on the following criteria: STEAM Elements (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), Engages Students, Creates an Inclusive Environment and Motivates Students to Succeed.
The prizes will be awarded at First Friday with a gift card presentation by the Chamber and Chevron. Thank you to Chevron for providing $5,000 to help fund these deserving projects in this promotion.
For more information, please contact the Bay County Chamber at 850-785-5206.
