COFFEE, COOKIES, AND CONVERSATION.
Come to the Bay County History Museum, 133 Harrison Av., on Friday, July 19, 9-11 a.m.
Let’s talk history! See the museum. Also on that day a special piece will be brought up from our basement. Not a regular item. It will be on display that day only.
In shadowed halls, beneath the museum’s gleam,
A hidden basement, secrets long it keeps.
Dust motes dance in slants of light unseen,
On relics strange and curiosities deep.
Cracked urns whisper tales of empires gone,
Arrowheads glint with battles fought and won.
A pharaoh’s mask, with eyes of faded stone,
Gazes upward, toward a world unknown.
Footprints echo, soft on the cold stone floor,
As nervous fingers trace an ancient door.
A scent of mildew hangs in the stagnant air,
A shiver crawls, a prickling at the hair.
What treasures lie in silent, dark display?
What whispers rise from this forgotten place?
The basement holds its mysteries at bay,
A hidden world, a time-forgotten space
