On Wednesday, November 15th, 2017, The Florida Association of Chamber Professionals (FACP) recognized Florida’s top chambers of commerce throughout the state for their outstanding achievement and precedence within the area of communications. The Bay County Chamber of Commerce was among those honored at the conference and received three communication awards. The awards were presented at the organization’s Annual Conference, held November 14-16, 2017, at the beautiful One Ocean Resort & Spa in Atlantic Beach, FL.
Chambers from across the state attended the event of which serves as a continuing education opportunity for executives and staff on an annual basis. Held throughout the state in the various regions, the event attracts speakers from the American Chamber of Commerce (ACCE), Florida Chamber of Commerce, nationally known motivational speakers and providers such as Google. The awards program, shines a spotlight on Chamber’s and recognizes those with exemplary performance. Awards are judged by Chamber peers within the industry for each category. Recipients are selected based on the intention and objectives of the piece, the success of the project, the innovation of the process to develop the product and the professionalism of the product.
In the category of Public Relations Programs, the Chamber won for their 2017 Infrastructure Surtax Campaign which supported the creation of a half-cent surtax to fund infrastructure projects in Bay County. In the category of Membership Communications/Marketing Materials, the chamber won for their Bay Biz Magazine, a quarterly publication produced to keep individuals apprised on the latest business trends and developments in Bay County. Finally, in the category of CVB (Convention and Visitors Bureau) Communications/Marketing Materials, the Chamber won for their annual Guide to Discovering Bay County, a publication designed to provide information about Bay County to individuals interested in visiting or relocating to Bay County.
“Throughout the upcoming year, chambers across the state will turn to these examples of excellence as the new industry standards”, stated Tammy C. Bracewell, Executive Director, FACP. “We could not have been more impressed with or proud of the caliber of entries that were submitted for this year’s communications awards.”
In addition to the communication awards, Chamber President/CEO, Carol Roberts was also recognized for her 40 year career. Roberts said, “I was humbled to be recognized by my peers and recognition gives special meaning to the milestone.”
