Co-working Site in Downtown Panama City Growing to Accommodate Demand
Just in time to celebrate its first anniversary, My Space Downtown, a 12,000-square-foot co-working office space in downtown Panama City, is expanding to meet growing demand. The company will recognize the anniversary and expansion with a “One Year and Counting” celebration open to the public, which will be held May 19th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at its location at 97 Oak Avenue.
My Space Downtown has constructed new offices and standalone “pods” that serve as larger private workspaces. The new spaces give visitors more options in addition to the existing combination of shared workspaces, dedicated desks and private offices. Workspaces include access to high-speed Wi-Fi and typical office amenities, such as printing services, free parking, vending machines, shredders and notary services.
“Co-working is becoming popular among a range of workers,” said Michelle Sparks, office manager. “We get entrepreneurs, freelancers, students, startups and even corporate workers who have arranged hybrid work schedules. Plus, being in Panama City, we are welcoming
vacationers who need time in the office along with time on the beach.”
My Space Downtown, steps away from Saint Andrew Bay and downtown shops and restaurants, also hosts company happy hours and other events in a large space with kitchen facilities.
“Many studies show that productivity is higher in co-working spaces than in the traditional office,” Sparks added. “Hybrid workers also like a convenient co-working space that helps them avoid a long commute into the office.”
Data backs up the growing attraction for alternatives to the “five days a week, 9 to 5, in the office” model. Coworker.com research projects co-working spaces will grow to 40,000 locations accommodating five million workers by 2024. At My Space Downtown, students, military members, and veterans receive 20% off any passes and memberships.
