The City of Lynn Haven will host a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Monday, September 11th, beginning at 9 AM at Sharon Sheffield Park, located at 901 Ohio Avenue, Lynn Haven, FL. At this ceremony, the public will hear remarks from City Manager Vickie Gainer, Police Chief Ricky Ramie, and a special guest speaker, as well as the invocation by Frank Stephens, Catalyst Church Pastor and Lynn Haven Police Department Chaplain. Mosley MCJROTC will present the colors with a performance of the national anthem by Renee Byrd. In addition, there will be a First Responders Remembrance Drive and a moment of silence at precisely 9:28 AM, followed by a Taps performance by Kelly Hundley. The city provides a limited number of chairs on the lawn, but attendees are welcome to bring their own chairs and blankets.

Police Chief Ricky Ramie invites everyone to join us as we honor the fallen heroes and first responders of 9/11. Chief Ramie stated, “One of the worst days in American history saw some of the bravest acts of our people. We’ll always honor the heroes of 9/11. On this day, we, as a city, state, and nation, pledge that we will never forget their sacrifice. I recall working the night before and waking up to the tragic news. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that any True Blooded American, whether they wear a uniform or not, will stand united against the evils of the world, foreign and domestic.” For more information on the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony, please contact the Marketing & Communications Department at 850-248-0483 or [email protected].
