Foot and ankle surgeon joins Asension Sacred Heart Bay

Panama City, Fla. – Foot and ankle surgeon Kimberly Broughton, MD, has joined Ascension Medical Group Sacred Heart. She will see patients for consultations and post-operative visits at 4121 U.S. 98 in Panama City, with surgeries performed at the Ascension Sacred Heart Bay hospital campus.

Dr. Broughton is board-certified in orthopedic surgery, and she is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. She provides specialized care for patients suffering from ankle and foot deformity, arthritis, fractures, sports injuries, tendon ruptures, trauma, cartilage defects, nerve disorders, sprains, fractures, joint pain and traumatic injuries.

Dr. Broughton graduated with her bachelor’s degree in biology from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado, and she received her medical degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, where she twice received the Distinguished Academic Performance Award. She completed residency training in orthopedics at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in Texas. Dr. Broughton also completed a foot and ankle fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, part of Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Broughton serves in the U.S. Air Force, and she has been deployed to Afghanistan, Niger and Peru. Her research has been published in medical textbooks and in multiple peer-reviewed journals. She has volunteered on medical missions to Honduras, India and Mexico. She is a graduate of the American Orthopaedic Association Emerging Leaders program, and she is a member of the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons.
