Howl at the Moon – 5K-9 and 1-Mile Dog Jog
November 10, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - November 11, 2018 @ 2:00 pm
The Central Panhandle Association of Realtors® is proud to announce the annual Howl at the Moon charity event. This year’s event will be a 5K-9 and 1-Mile Dog Jog and will be held at Sisters of the Sea @ Pirate’s Cove Marina on November 10th, 2018.
All proceeds of this dog-friendly event will benefit The Lucky Puppy Rescue. The Lucky Puppy Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization formed in 2008 and is located on a 125-acre farm in Bonifay, Florida. The Lucky Puppy rescues approximately 1,000 dogs per year, vets and socializes the dogs, and works to provide foster homes until adoptions and forever homes are found.
2017 was the first year we hosted this event and we raised over $7,500 to benefit this wonderful organization.
This year’s event is different than last, however, as it is now a 5K-9 event with a 1-mile dog-jog. Wear your favorite costume for the costume contest…you can even dress up your pooch! There will be pirates and a photo booth, too. We will also have several raffle items available, with all proceeds benefitting The Lucky Puppy Rescue. And you won’t want to miss the LIVE K-9 Demonstration by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office!
Pre-race festivities begin at 2:00pm with registration/packet pickup, followed by the BCSO K-9 demo at 3:00 pm, the 1-mile Dog Jog at 4:30pm, and the 5K-9 at 6:00pm.
The race course will take runners (and dogs) under and over the Grand Lagoon bridge providing the perfect opportunity to “Howl at the Moon”! This is a dog friendly fun run and 5K so pets are welcome and encouraged! These races will not be timed.
