The Bay County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee is pleased to announce Will Cramer, of Bill Cramer Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, as the 2020 Military Affairs Committee (MAC) Chairman. Cramer officially began his term as Chair during MAC’s annual Passing of the Gavel event where 2019 MAC Chairman, Doug Moore, was honored.

“This past year has been humbling and inspiring,” said Doug Moore, 2019 MAC Chairman. “From representing our community and bases in Washington, D.C. where Bay County was recognized as one of five Great American Defense Communities for 2019, and exchanging a MAC coin with the 2nd Lady, Mrs. Karen Pence, to touring NSA Panama City where I learned all the amazing missions operating behind that gate which support our Navy’s mission and protect our country to finally flying with the Beagles, 2nd Squadron, and truly learning just how out of shape I am! Through it all I have met so many amazing service members, in and out of uniform.”

The MAC Chairmanship is the last step on the Chamber’s leadership ladder as this person makes a five year commitment to serve as an officer of the organization. The trek begins as Treasurer, then Vice Chair, Chair Elect and ultimately the Chair of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce. As past Chair of the Chamber, they maintain their position as an officer, and is responsible for another year as Chair of the MAC.

The Passing of the Gavel event is hosted for the outgoing Military Affairs Committee Chair to recognize them for their dedication for serving in the capacity as chair, and to introduce and welcome the new MAC Chair for the upcoming year. This is also an opportunity for the Commanders for Tyndall Air Force Base, First Air Force, Naval Support Activity and Naval Surface Warfare Center to recognize the outgoing MAC Chair for their support. The event took place on January 16th, at the St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club in Panama City, FL.
